Proximus' Fiberklaar and Telenet's Wyre partner to roll out fiber across Flanders, Belgium

Proximus' subsidiary Fiberklaar and Liberty Global‑owned Wyre have entered a partnership to jointly build a multigigabit fiber network across the Flanders region of Belgium. Wyre will construct 58.5 % of the network while Fiberklaar will build the remaining 41.5 %, with the majority of homes slated to be passed by 30 June 2029 and full connectivity for 1.9 million households targeted by 30 June 2037. The collaboration will see a single fiber infrastructure per area, reducing construction disruption and allowing other providers to access the network through shared access points. The Belgian Competition Authority approved the arrangement, enabling the partners to accelerate digital backbone development in suburban and low‑density rural zones. By consolidating build‑out efforts, the deal supports Proximus' and Telenet's broader strategy to expand ultra‑fast broadband and stimulate economic growth in the region.
