PT PAL Indonesia awarded EPC contract for Conductor Support Frame in Mako offshore gas field development

Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Oil Gas · Country: Indonesia · Announced: 2026-06-22

PT PAL Indonesia secured a binding engineering, procurement, construction, and transportation (EPCT) contract from Conrad Asia Energy to deliver the Conductor Support Frame (CSF) for the Mako offshore gas field in Indonesia's West Natuna Sea. The CSF is a critical structural component that will support six development wells tied back to a leased Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU), enabling first gas production from one of Indonesia's largest undeveloped gas discoveries. Total capital expenditure for the project is estimated at $320 million on a 100% basis, with gas from the field to be transported via a 59-km, 18-inch pipeline to the Kakap PSC's KF platform before entering the West Natuna Transportation System (WNTS) pipeline for domestic market delivery. Conrad Asia Energy, through its majority-owned subsidiary West Natuna Exploration Limited (WNEL), operates the Duyung Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area where the Mako field is located, while Empyrean Energy holds an indirect interest via its shareholding in Conrad. The contract award marks a transition from front-end engineering and design work into the execution phase, with partners targeting first gas as Indonesia seeks to boost domestic gas supplies amid declining production from mature fields and rising demand for natural gas from industry and power generation.
