Qualitas Energy acquires 164 MWp solar project in Illinois, USA

Qualitas Energy has acquired a 164 MWp photovoltaic project in the development phase in Illinois, within the MISO electricity market. The asset was purchased from Bechtel Enterprises through Qualitas Energy's fund, Qualitas Energy VI. The project has all necessary permits, 100% of the land secured, and unanimous local authority support during its processing. Construction is planned for Q2 2028, with commercial operation expected in Q3 2029. The company also plans to incorporate up to 64 MWac of battery storage, creating a hybrid solar-plus-storage solution to enhance its appeal for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
