Raízen completed the sale of the Caarapó sugarcane processing plant in Mato Grosso do Sul to Adecoagro Vale do Ivinhema for R$ 760 million. The transaction also included the transfer of associated sugarcane supply contracts and proprietary sugarcane fields linked to the unit. Raízen, which has been undergoing an extrajudicial recovery process since June, used the proceeds to address its R$ 65 billion debt burden. The deal marks Adecoagro's expansion in Brazil's ethanol and sugar sector, strengthening its operational footprint in the region. The transaction was finalized amid Raízen's strategic restructuring efforts to streamline its asset portfolio.
