RECPDCL awards 2 GW intrastate transmission project contract for Karnataka solar park evacuation

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) awarded a contract to develop an intrastate transmission project for evacuating power from a 2,000 MW solar park located at Ryapte village in Karnataka’s Tumkur district. The transmission infrastructure will enable the evacuation of renewable energy generated by the solar park, supporting Karnataka’s renewable energy targets. The project is part of Karnataka’s broader strategy to expand solar capacity and integrate large-scale renewable energy into the state grid. RECPDCL, a subsidiary of REC Limited, will oversee the development and execution of the transmission system. The contract was awarded following a competitive auction process, with the project expected to be commissioned in phases over the coming years.
