Repsol awarded the engineering and construction contract for its 825 MW Pinnington solar project in Texas to Black & Veatch and its Overland Contracting subsidiary. The project, located in the ERCOT market, is the largest single renewable energy project to reach commercial operation in the Texas grid. It includes 1.5 million solar panels and is expected to avoid around one million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. The successful completion of Pinnington has increased Repsol’s renewable energy capacity in the US to over 2 GW, demonstrating strong execution and a deep safety culture.
