Reverion raises $175M Series B to scale production of carbon-negative-capable power plants

Type: Financing · Technology: Hydrogen · Country: Germany · Capacity: 250 MW · Value: $175M · Announced: 2026-09-29

Reverion closed a $175 million Series B financing led by Kembara with participation from Extantia, Energy Impact Partners, UVC Partners, European Innovation Council Fund (EIC Fund), alfa8, Possible Ventures, Allianz, KfW Capital, Aurum Impact and Carbon Equity on 2026-09-29. The company said the majority of the capital will fund a new megafactory in Germany to scale manufacturing capacity tenfold to 250 MW of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) power plants. Reverion’s SOFC technology converts biogas, natural gas or hydrogen into electricity at a reported world-record electrical efficiency of 74.2% and captures CO2 in the fuel stream for reuse or permanent storage; when run on biogenic biogas plus permanent CO2 storage the system can generate negative emissions. The systems are reversible for electrolysis, allowing plants to switch from generation to hydrogen or methane production using surplus renewable electricity, targeting industrial sites and data centers with on-demand carbon-negative-capable power. Investors and Kembara highlighted demand for dispatchable, high-efficiency power for data centers and heavy industry, and Reverion noted seven power plants already in regular operation with first international deliveries scheduled in 2026.
