Type: Financing · Technology: Solar · Country: Romania · Capacity: 1.3 GW · Value: EUR 561M · Announced: 2026-09-30
Rezolv Energy signed a project financing package of up to €561 million through project subsidiary West Power Investments to fund construction of the 1.3 GWp Dama Solar project. The plant is located in Arad County in western Romania and will cover more than 1,000 hectares, with commercial operations targeted in H2 2028 and expected annual generation of around 1,800 GWh. The 14-lender consortium includes development finance institutions European Investment Bank (backed by an InvestEU guarantee), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Finance Corporation, and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank alongside commercial banks such as Erste Group Bank, UniCredit Bank and Société Générale. The financing is structured as a green loan under the 2025 Green Loan Principles, supported by two contracts for difference from Romania’s second CfD auction covering 520 MW and a corporate PPA with an unnamed offtaker. Dama Solar is part of Rezolv’s 2.8 GW renewable portfolio in Romania and Bulgaria and the transaction received a second-party opinion from Moody’s Ratings, which assigned a Sustainability Quality Score of SQS1 (Excellent).
