Scatec signs 10-year PPA with Statkraft for Rio Urucuia solar plant in Brazil
Type: Ppa · Technology: Solar · Country: Brazil · Capacity: 142 MW · Announced: 2026-07-03
Scatec signed a 10-year power purchase agreement with Statkraft for the Rio Urucuia solar power plant in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The 142 MW solar facility is expected to generate about 321 GWh of electricity annually, with roughly 75 % of the output allocated to Statkraft under the agreement. The remaining 25 % of the electricity will be sold on the spot market and through short-, medium- and long-term contracts. The PPA adds to Scatec’s portfolio of three solar assets in Brazil, bringing its total installed capacity in the country to 835 MW. The agreement supports Brazil’s energy transition by delivering clean, reliable power to the southeast sub-market, where demand is strong. No financial terms were disclosed, and Scatec will continue to operate and maintain the plant while seeking future equity partners.
