Schneider Electric partners with Fundação Amazônia Sustentável to launch Sustainable Energy Polo in Amazonas

Type: Partnership · Technology: Solar · Country: Brazil · Announced: 2026-07-08

Schneider Electric partnered with Fundação Amazônia Sustentável to inaugurate the Schneider Electric Sustainable Energy Polo Kanata Katu in the Três Unidos indigenous community in Amazonas, Brazil. The polo supports the operation of the Usina Solar Indígena Três Unidos, an off‑grid photovoltaic plant with battery storage that supplies continuous electricity to 47 homes, two schools, a health post and community enterprises. The project replaces diesel generators, delivering up to 35,000 liters of diesel savings per year and cutting CO₂ emissions by about 111 tonnes annually. By providing a technology platform for measurement, protection, monitoring and consumption management, Schneider Electric enables real‑time energy data for the community. The initiative, funded by German climate finance, aims to be replicated in other isolated Amazonian villages, expanding off‑grid solar access across the region. No monetary value was disclosed; the partnership highlights Schneider Electric’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions for remote communities.
