Searah (Malaysia) acquired the operatorship of five major upstream oil and gas assets from Petronas Carigali on 1 July 2026. The assets are part of production sharing contracts in Malaysia and form a subset of Searah Limited’s regional portfolio of 19 assets across Malaysia and Indonesia. The transfer makes Searah (Malaysia) the operator of these assets, enabling it to manage production and development activities. The deal strengthens the joint venture between Petronas and Eni, expanding their presence in the Malaysian upstream sector. The operatorship change is expected to enhance operational efficiency and create long‑term value for stakeholders. No financial terms were disclosed, and the transaction was announced in a statement by Searah (Malaysia) CEO Mohd Johan Ariff Mohd Supian.
