Shearwater Geoservices awarded seismic survey contract by ExxonMobil Guyana for offshore Guyana reservoir surveillance
Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Oil Gas · Country: Guyana · Announced: 2026-06-11
Shearwater Geoservices secured a two-month distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) seismic survey contract from ExxonMobil Guyana to support reservoir surveillance in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana. The contract covers source-only seismic acquisition for a baseline DAS reservoir surveillance survey over the Yellowtail development area, with Shearwater deploying the vessel SW Empress in a triple-source configuration. The survey follows Shearwater's multiclient project in South America, where the vessel has operated since November 2025, and is intended to provide critical insights into reservoir performance throughout the field's lifecycle. Shearwater's CEO Irene Waage Basili highlighted the company's offshore execution experience and flexible capacity as enabling the vessel to switch between operational modes for maximum utilization. The project underscores ExxonMobil's ongoing investment in Guyana's offshore oil and gas infrastructure.
