Type: Partnership · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: Netherlands · Capacity: 760 MW · Announced: 2026-07-07

Shell, Chubu and Eneco have formed the Ecowende joint venture to develop the 760 MW Hollandse Kust West offshore wind farm. The project, located 53 km off the Dutch coast, includes 52 turbines of 15 MW each. Offshore construction started in December 2025 with the first monopile and full commercial delivery is targeted for end‑2026. The partnership combines Shell’s offshore expertise, Chubu’s Japanese market experience and Eneco’s renewable portfolio to strengthen the Netherlands’ clean‑energy transition. The joint venture will own and operate the farm, delivering an estimated 3.3 TWh annually, enough for about 3 % of Dutch electricity demand. No financial terms were disclosed.
