Shell signs five-year LNG supply deal with Vietnam's PV GAS

Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Gas · Country: Vietnam · Announced: 2026-08-12

Shell has finalized a five-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal with Vietnam's state-controlled Petrovietnam Gas (PV GAS). Under the agreement, Shell will deliver approximately 400,000 tons of LNG per year to Vietnam from 2027 to 2031. This marks Vietnam's first term contract for LNG, as the country aims to build its LNG industry from scratch to meet growing energy demand and reduce reliance on coal. The fuel will be supplied to the Thi Vai Terminal, which is currently being expanded and serves two power plants with a combined capacity of 1.5 gigawatts.
