Siemens Energy supplies power generation and gas compression systems to SBM Offshore for Petrobras-operated FPSOs in Brazil

Siemens Energy secured a supply agreement with SBM Offshore to deliver power generation and gas compression systems for two floating production, storage, and offloading vessels (FPSOs) operated by Petrobras in the Sergipe-Alagoas basin offshore Brazil. The scope includes 16 main modular systems (skids)—eight for each FPSO—combining four gas turbine generators for electricity, three gas turbine-driven compressor trains for gas processing, and one electrically driven compressor for gas injection per platform. Siemens Energy will assemble most equipment at its industrial complex in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, Brazil, supporting local content requirements and creating approximately 400 direct and 500 indirect jobs. The first solution package is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2027, with final deliveries expected throughout 2028, aligning with the project’s 2030 production start and 2031 gas export timeline. The FPSOs, P-81 and P-87, will produce up to 240,000 barrels of oil and process 22 million cubic meters of natural gas daily, with processed gas exported via a dedicated pipeline to onshore facilities.
