Siemens Energy signed a supply agreement with Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) to deliver 20 steam turbine-generator sets totaling 1GW of capacity for B&W's FastPower program targeting data center customers in the US market. The order, separate from a prior 300MW natural gas generation deal between the two companies for Applied Digital’s data center campuses, will supply an undisclosed operator. B&W's FastPower program combines its boiler and generation technologies with Siemens Energy's turbines to provide data center operators a faster alternative to conventional simple- or combined-cycle gas plants. The agreement reflects growing demand for reliable, affordable, and resilient energy infrastructure in the US data center sector.
