Sixth Street, GIC, SK Telecom and La Caisse vie to acquire up to 50% stake in Bridge Data Centres from Bain Capital

Type: Acquisition · Technology: Data Center · Country: Singapore · Capacity: 3 GW · Value: $4B · Announced: 2026-07-29

Sixth Street Partners, SK Telecom, Singapore's GIC and Canada’s La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec are reported to be negotiating the purchase of up to a 50% equity stake in Bridge Data Centres from Bain Capital, valuing the operator at roughly $4 billion. Bridge Data Centres, a Singapore‑based APAC operator, currently runs five data centres in Malaysia, two in Thailand and one in India and aims to reach 3 GW of capacity by 2030. The potential transaction would give the buyers a material foothold in the fast‑growing Asian data‑center market and diversify their infrastructure portfolios. Bain Capital’s possible exit follows earlier rumours dating back to December and follows its recent split of the former ChinData business. No final terms have been disclosed, and the parties have not commented on the reports.
