SK Ocean Plant supplies first jacket foundations for Taiwan's 500 MW Fengmiao 1 offshore wind project
Type: Supply Agreement · Technology: Offshore Wind · Country: Taiwan · Capacity: 500 MW · Announced: 2026-07-13
SK Ocean Plant delivered the first batch of jacket foundations to the Fengmiao 1 offshore wind project, fulfilling a supply agreement signed in June 2024. The 500 MW project off the coast of Taichung City will host 33 Vestas 15 MW turbines supported by 33 jackets up to 97 m tall and weighing about 2,700 t each. The delivery marks the largest offshore wind substructures ever installed in Taiwan and positions the project for subsequent jacket shipments. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the project developer, will integrate the jackets into its portfolio as the world’s largest offshore wind investor. The deal underscores SK Ocean Plant’s expansion in the global offshore wind market and demonstrates its capability to supply high‑capacity foundations for mega‑scale turbines. No financial terms were disclosed, and the transaction was announced on 13 July 2026.
