SmartestEnergy signs 20-year CFD PPA with Bute Energy for Twyn Hywel Energy Park

SmartestEnergy has signed a 20-year Contract for Difference (CfD) power purchase agreement with Bute Energy for the 93.4 MW Twyn Hywel Energy Park in South Wales. The onshore wind project, located on the border of Caerphilly and Rhondda Cynon Taf, will includes 14 wind turbines expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 81,000 homes annually. Twyn Hywel was awarded a CfD in Allocation Round 7 and is targeting commercial operation in late 2027. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners supported Bute Energy as an investment partner in the tender process for SmartestEnergy to become the route-to-market partner. The project is anticipated to create around 300 jobs and foster local economic development.
