Type: Partnership · Technology: Data Center · Country: United States · Capacity: 10 GW · Announced: 2026-07-02
SoftBank Corp. and SoftBank Group Corp. established SB Neo, a 51%-49% joint venture incorporated in Delaware, to develop a 10-gigawatt neocloud AI infrastructure platform in the US. The venture plans to launch neocloud services in fiscal year 2027, targeting US enterprises and hyperscalers for AI model training and inference, with phased scaling toward the 10GW capacity target by around 2030. SB Neo will leverage SoftBank Group's broader US energy and AI infrastructure initiatives, including SB Energy's data center campus under development on Department of Energy land at the Portsmouth Site in Ohio. The company will also apply insights from SoftBank Corp.'s beta GPU cloud service in Japan, launched in May 2026 using the Infrinia AI Cloud OS stack. SoftBank Group chairman Masayoshi Son emphasized the venture's role in deploying world-class AI infrastructure to drive the AI revolution, while SoftBank Corp. president Junichi Miyakawa linked the timing to securing 10GW of power in the US.
