Sonnedix secures 7.9TWh of contracts in Italy’s Energy Release 2.0 mechanism
Sonnedix, a global renewable energy company, has secured 7.9TWh of contracts in Italy’s Energy Release 2.0 mechanism, representing 11.7% of the total awarded volume. The contracts provide stable contracted revenues over a 3-year period for electro-intensive customers and over 20 years for producers. This achievement aligns with Sonnedix's strong momentum in Italy, where it has surpassed 1GW of operating capacity and is advancing hybrid projects, including a co-located 18MW/4h BESS system in Sicily. Additionally, Sonnedix secured 670 MW of solar capacity under the FER X auction and 10 MW under the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA) program. The deal underscores Sonnedix's strategic focus on Italy's energy transition and its ability to deliver competitively priced renewable power to industrial consumers.
