Sphera Energy to build 100 MW BESS system in Campania

Sphera Ponente Srl, a controlled company of Milan-based Sphera Energy, has been granted authorization (AU decree 158/2026) to construct a 100 MW battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will be located in the municipalities of Andretta and Bisaccia, within the province of Avellino, Campania. This development is part of the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security's (Mase) efforts to expand energy storage capacity. The authorization was published on June 25, 2026.
