Sphera Energy to develop 50 MW BESS plant in Tuscany

Milan-based Sphera Energy has received authorization (decree 123/2026) to develop the "BESS Tuscania Pianaccio" plant, a 50 MW battery energy storage system. The project will be located in the municipality of Tuscania, province of Viterbo. This authorization is part of a recent wave of five permits from the Mase, totaling 310 MW of new BESS capacity across Italy.
