ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) secured a $1.37 billion green financing facility to fund the first phase of its 166MW data center campus in Johor, Malaysia. The financing package, coordinated by United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) with OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia, and CIMB Bank as mandated lead arrangers, supports the development of STT Johor 1—a 16MW IT load facility expected to complete by 2027. Located in the Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park within Iskandar Puteri, the campus is strategically positioned 15 kilometers from Singapore to serve the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). The green loan aligns with STT GDC's sustainability goals, targeting energy-efficient digital infrastructure for cloud computing, AI, and high-performance computing workloads. The company reported 83.2% renewable energy sourcing for its electricity consumption in 2025 and achieved a 70.5% reduction in carbon intensity against its 2021 baseline.
