Stellantis signs multiple PPAs to install 500 MW of solar PV and 200 MWh of battery storage across 27 European manufacturing plants

Stellantis, a multinational automotive group headquartered in Amsterdam, signed multiple Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to install over 500 MW of solar photovoltaic capacity and 200 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across 27 manufacturing plants in Europe. The projects span France (110 MW solar and 50 MWh BESS), Germany (10 MW solar), Poland (58 MW solar), and Spain (30.8 MW solar and 27.6 MW wind at Zaragoza, plus 19 MW solar and 6 MW/18 MWh BESS at Vigo, and 17.5 MW solar with 25 MWh BESS at Madrid). The solar installations will cover 68% of Stellantis' European electricity demand by 2026, with on-site self-consumption reaching 31% and up to 80% at some facilities. The Zaragoza hybrid project includes a 6.9 MW Nordex Group wind turbine, marking the first integration of wind power in Stellantis' European manufacturing sites. The BESS program targets 20 sites with 200 MWh total capacity, with the first phase involving seven plants by 2026 and completion expected within three years.
