Stonepeak to acquire BMO’s Transportation Finance and Vendor Finance businesses
Type: Acquisition · Technology: Transport · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-05-12
Stonepeak, an alternative investment firm, has reached an agreement to acquire BMO’s Transportation Finance and Vendor Finance businesses from BMO Financial Group. As part of the transaction, BMO will reinvest a 19.9 percent minority interest in the business. The acquired businesses, based in Irving, Texas, offer customized financing solutions for a wide array of transportation assets and equipment, including trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment for agriculture and construction. This investment aligns with Stonepeak's long-held thesis and experience in transportation-focused asset leasing businesses, having previously invested in nine such platforms. The transaction includes asset-based financing from PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial, Inc., and bank financing with Bank of America as the lead financing arranger.
