SunHydrogen partners with Sparc Hydrogen to test cheaper hydrogen production using integrated modules
Type: Partnership · Technology: Hydrogen · Country: Australia · Announced: 2026-08-11
SunHydrogen, Inc. entered a 24-month partnership with Sparc Hydrogen to integrate SunHydrogen's modules into Sparc Hydrogen's reactors to reduce hydrogen production costs. The collaboration follows preliminary testing where SunHydrogen's modules achieved over 10% solar-to-hydrogen efficiency and demonstrated increased hydrogen output under concentrated sunlight. The parties will conduct laboratory testing at increasing solar concentration levels, with potential progression to on-sun testing at Sparc Hydrogen's SHARP pilot facility in Roseworthy, South Australia. If milestones are met, Sparc Hydrogen holds an 18-month option to negotiate either a long-term supply agreement or a manufacturing license for SunHydrogen's modules. The agreement is structured in phases with independent reviews and go/no-go decisions before each stage.
