Suniva to merge with SUNation subsidiary, gaining NASDAQ listing

Type: Acquisition · Technology: Solar · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-06-08

Suniva announced it will merge with a wholly‑owned subsidiary of SUNation, with SUNation acting as the acquiring party. The transaction gives Suniva access to U.S. capital markets through SUNation’s NASDAQ‑listed vehicle. Suniva operates a 1 GW solar cell plant in Norcross, Georgia, and plans a $350 million investment in a new 4.5 GW facility in South Carolina. SUNation, a residential and commercial solar installer based in Ronkonkoma, New York, previously rebranded from Pineapple Energy and owns Hawaii Energy Connection and E‑Gear. The merger positions the combined entity to capture a larger share of the domestic solar cell market, which currently represents about one‑third of U.S. capacity. No financial terms were disclosed, and the deal was announced on 8 June 2026.
