TCL Solar signed a supply agreement to provide back-contact photovoltaic modules for the 720 MWp Smoky Creek and Guthrie’s Gap solar farms. The modules, with efficiencies up to 24.2 %, will be installed by DT Infrastructure on the 1,800‑hectare site near Biloela, Queensland. Construction is slated to begin early 2027 with commercial operation targeted for 2028. The deal marks the first deployment of back-contact technology at utility scale, positioning TCL Solar as a global supplier. TCL Technology, the parent of TCL Solar, and Canadian investor La Caisse, owner of Edify Energy, are the respective corporate backers.
