Type: Partnership · Technology: Nuclear · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-06-18
Terrestrial Energy and Zachry Group executed an Engineering Services Agreement (ESA) to advance the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) advanced nuclear project at Texas A&M-RELLIS in Bryan, Texas. Under the agreement, Zachry Group will provide nuclear engineering services including civil structures, mechanical, and electrical systems to support Terrestrial Energy’s design, development, and licensing activities. The collaboration leverages Terrestrial Energy’s proprietary Generation IV nuclear plant technology and Zachry’s NQA-1 nuclear quality program and construction management expertise. The project builds on prior agreements between Terrestrial Energy and the Texas A&M University System, which granted site control over approximately 77 acres at the RELLIS campus for site characterization and environmental evaluation. Terrestrial Energy’s CEO Simon Irish highlighted the agreement as strengthening the technical rigor for site characterization and licensing activities, while Zachry officials emphasized the initiative’s role in solidifying RELLIS as a leading center for advanced nuclear development.
