TotalEnergies ENEOS commissions 28 MWp rooftop solar PPA with Samsung Electronics in Vietnam under Decree 57 framework
Type: Ppa · Technology: Solar · Country: Vietnam · Capacity: 28 MWp · Announced: 2026-07-06
TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific commissioned a 28 MWp rooftop solar photovoltaic system at Samsung Electronics' HCMC CE Complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, marking the first and largest rooftop solar power purchase agreement (PPA) developed under Vietnam’s Decree 57 Direct Power Purchase Agreement framework using a private-wire arrangement. The 20-year PPA requires TotalEnergies ENEOS to finance, install, operate, and maintain the solar installation for Samsung Electronics’ second-largest global manufacturing facility, which includes approximately 45,000 solar modules. The project is expected to generate more than 40,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, supplying around 26% of the site’s electricity demand while avoiding over 500,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions over the agreement’s term. Samsung Electronics HCMC CE Complex President Keunha Hwang highlighted the project as a material milestone in the facility’s transition toward renewable energy, emphasizing shared commitment to sustainability. TotalEnergies ENEOS Renewables Distributed Generation Asia Pacific Director Alexandru Buzatu underscored the collaboration’s role in supporting industrial decarbonisation while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
