Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil S/A (TBG) signed contracts to supply natural gas (in the form of LNG delivered via the Terminal Gás Sul) to the thermal power plants that won capacity in the Leilão de Reserva de Capacidade na forma de potência (LRCap). TBG said the LRCap-winning plants collectively demand 12 million m³ of gas, and the company expects to allocate about US$300 million to serve those thermal plants. The supply arrangement is tied to LNG arrivals at the Terminal Gás Sul and awaits regulatory approval from the Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis (ANP). The contracts link TBG directly with the LRCap thermal offtakers and position the Terminal Gás Sul as the delivery point for contracted volumes. TBG's announcement on 2026-09-25 frames the spending as necessary to meet contracted supply, subject to the ANP's green light.
