Triple Point acquires Hessay solar project from Recurrent Energy

Funds managed by Triple Point acquired the 49.9 MW Hessay solar project in York from Recurrent Energy. The project, covering 61.3 hectares, secured planning consent and construction is already underway with grid connection scheduled for the second half of 2027. Hessay Solar is expected to generate enough electricity to supply approximately 14,100 homes annually and secured a 15-year, inflation-linked contract for difference through the UK Government’s sixth allocation round. The acquisition marks Triple Point’s second solar acquisition in 2026, following the purchase of a 28 MW project in Essex in January. Jonathan Hick, Head of Energy Transition at Triple Point, highlighted the project’s near-term grid connection and attractive long-term contracts as key strategic benefits.
