The U.S. Department of Energy signed non‑binding memorandums of understanding with the governments of Utah, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Idaho to host Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses. The MOUs were signed by Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, designating five states as initial contenders for the integrated nuclear ecosystems. Each campus will co‑locate fuel fabrication, enrichment, spent‑fuel reprocessing and waste disposition facilities within a full‑cycle nuclear environment. The initiative aims to streamline the nuclear fuel cycle and accelerate domestic nuclear capabilities across the United States. By partnering with state governments, DOE seeks to create a coordinated infrastructure that supports advanced nuclear technologies and enhances energy security.
