Ubitricity signs 10-year solar PPA with Shell Energy Europe
Type: Ppa · Technology: Solar · Country: United Kingdom · Announced: 2026-07-03
Ubitricity has signed a 10‑year power purchase agreement with Shell Energy Europe to procure solar electricity for its UK EV charging network. The PPA provides more than 16 GWh of renewable solar generation each year from the Iddenshall Solar Farm located in Cheshire, England. The solar farm is slated to begin commercial operation in the summer of 2026, and until then Ubitricity will continue to receive solar power from other UK assets supplied by Shell Energy Europe. The agreement will stabilise electricity costs for Ubitricity’s network of over 14,600 public charge points across the United Kingdom. By linking its charging stations directly to a domestic solar source, Ubitricity reinforces its commitment to 100 % renewable energy certified by REGOs. No financial terms were disclosed in the announcement.
