The UK offshore wind industry is projected to attract £100 billion in private investment over the next five years, with £81 billion allocated for capital expenditures and £18 billion for development and operational expenses. This follows £100 billion already invested in UK offshore wind projects over the past 25 years, demonstrating sustained sector growth. RenewableUK's executive director Tara Singh emphasized the sector's role in economic growth and energy security, noting that offshore wind currently employs 40,000 people in the UK and is expected to exceed 95,000 jobs by 2030.
