Van Oord commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat to build longitudinal dams and create tidal area in Scheur river

Van Oord has been commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat to construct nearly 4 kilometers of longitudinal dams and establish approximately 31 hectares of tidal area in the Dutch Scheur river. This project aims to support the objectives of the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) by restoring habitats for fish, birds, and aquatic plants. The initiative will also contribute to protecting and improving water quality within the Scheur river system. The work is part of broader efforts to enhance ecological conditions and biodiversity in the region.
