Velto Renewables secures €800+ million refinancing for 218 MW Spanish solar portfolio
Type: Financing · Technology: Solar · Country: Spain · Capacity: 218 MW · Value: $914.9M · Announced: 2026-07-09
Madrid-based independent renewable energy producer Velto Renewables completed a €800+ million (~$914.9 million) refinancing for 76 operational solar photovoltaic plants in Spain, representing 218 MW of installed capacity. The portfolio operates under Spain’s regulated RECORE framework and was originally acquired by Velto in 2020 as one of its core operating portfolios. The refinancing involved eight financial institutions including Crédit Agricole, EDC, BBVA, BNP Paribas, Abanca, ING, Deutsche Bank, and CaixaBank, which participated as lenders in the transaction. The deal simplified Velto’s corporate structure and improved its long-term debt profile while supporting operational performance management across the Spanish solar portfolio. The refinancing follows Velto’s strategic focus on expanding its renewable energy footprint in Spain, where the RECORE framework provides stable revenue streams for solar projects.
