Verano Energy awards Sungrow supply agreement for 152 MW / 606 MWh BESS for Observatorio project in Chile

Verano Energy has awarded Sungrow the supply agreement for a 152 MW / 606 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for its Observatorio project in Chile. The agreement includes a 25-year long-term service agreement (LTSA) and will utilize Sungrow's PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled platform. The BESS will be integrated with a 135 MW photovoltaic plant, also supplied with Sungrow SG350HX-20 inverters. The project is located in the commune of Marchigüe, O’Higgins region, and represents a modified configuration from earlier plans, with an estimated investment of $190 million for the overall project reported in December 2025.
