Verdian acquires 117 MW agrivoltaic portfolio in Sicily from Genertec International

Verdian, an independent power producer (IPP) and part of Nuveen Infrastructure's Clean Energy Fund IV managed by TIAA, completed the acquisition of a 117 MW agrivoltaic portfolio in Sicily from Genertec International. The portfolio consists of three ready-to-build projects with capacities of 58 MWp, 33 MW, and 26 MW located in Ramacca and Paternò, Sicily. Verdian plans to commence construction by late 2026 with operations expected between mid-2027 and late 2027. The projects will feature bifacial modules and single-axis trackers and were awarded under Italy's Fer X auctions. The acquisition aligns with Verdian's strategy to expand its renewable energy platform in key European markets, leveraging Italy's supportive regulatory framework and market fundamentals.
