The agreement supports Vikram Solar's plan to commission a 9 GW high‑efficiency cell plant by Q4 FY27 and strengthens its domestic content (DCR) strategy. By widening its supplier base, Vikram Solar aims to reduce reliance on imports and bolster India's energy security. The deal was announced on 16 September 2026 as part of the companies' broader backward‑integration and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
