Vistra Corp. and Amazon finalized a 20-year power purchase agreement in September 2025 for 1.2 GW of electricity from Vistra's Comanche Peak nuclear power plant in Texas. The deal will supply power to Amazon's $5 billion data center project near the nuclear facility, with commercial operations expected to begin in 2027. Comanche Peak, a 2.4 GW nuclear plant, will deliver baseload power under the agreement, providing Amazon with reliable energy for its hyperscale computing infrastructure. The PPA represents one of the largest single nuclear power agreements in the U.S. for data center operations.
