Australian IoT firm X2M Connect Limited and real estate developer Resi Ventures finalized land acquisition for a 100MW-capacity integrated data center and energy infrastructure precinct located 10 kilometers northwest of Ballarat, Victoria. The project, named the Miners Rest Renewable Energy Integration Precinct, will combine a high-density data center capable of supporting AI workloads with a 10MW+ battery energy storage system, heavy electric vehicle charging infrastructure, an anaerobic biodigester, and hot house horticulture facilities. X2M will oversee power management, cooling systems, connectivity, metering, and safety operations across the precinct, while Resi Ventures brings its AU$900 million (US$624 million) land development portfolio to the joint venture. The partners previously announced their collaboration in June 2026 and are actively pursuing additional data center expansion opportunities across Australia, with one additional site already owned and another under negotiation. X2M CEO Mohan Jesudason emphasized the partnership's role in integrating technology equipment and operators under a unified management system, while Resi Ventures co-founder Anthony Braunthal highlighted the strategic importance of regional data center development within the firm's growth strategy.
