Zephyr Energy acquires 27,000 acres in Utah's Paradox Basin

Type: Acquisition · Technology: Oil Gas · Country: United States · Announced: 2026-07-01

Zephyr Energy acquired 27,000 acres in Utah’s Paradox Basin, expanding its land position to roughly 70,000 gross acres. The new parcels, about 24,000 acres from a competitive lease sale by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and 3,000 acres via direct negotiation with the Utah Trust Lands Administration, are contiguous to the existing White Sands Unit. The acquisition gives Zephyr 100% working interest in the added land and access to the Cane Creek reservoir and Paradox Formation for oil, natural gas, and helium production. Zephyr plans to tie new wells to its already‑scheduled White Sands Unit facilities, reducing capital outlay and supporting ongoing farm‑out discussions. The transaction was funded entirely with existing cash, required no new financing, and was announced on 1 July 2026. No external advisors or lenders were disclosed.
