A2A Energia signs 8-year PPA with Politecnico di Milano to supply 35 GWh/year of renewable energy
A2A Energia, a subsidiary of A2A, signed an 8-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Politecnico di Milano to supply 35 GWh of renewable energy annually starting May 2026. Over half of the energy will come from a newly constructed solar photovoltaic plant developed by A2A, while the remainder will be sourced from existing renewable assets in A2A’s portfolio located in Northern Italy. The agreement combines a fixed-price, constant withdrawal profile for approximately half the supply with a variable price indexed to wholesale markets for the remaining portion. Politecnico di Milano will cover 100% of its annual energy demand through this PPA, with the structure serving as a model for other public administration entities. The deal marks A2A’s first PPA with a public administration, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Italy’s energy transition through cross-sector partnerships.
