ABP, RWE, and Clarksons Port Services partner for Lowestoft port to support 3.1GW Vanguard offshore wind farms
Associated British Ports (ABP), RWE, and Clarksons Port Services have signed an agreement to establish the Port of Lowestoft as the construction support base for the 3.1 GW Norfolk Vanguard West and East offshore wind farms. This deal confirms ABP's Lowestoft Eastern Energy Facility (LEEF) as the primary hub for the projects in the Southern North Sea. RWE will utilize the facility for its Vanguard construction program, securing up to three Service Operation Vessels and three Crew Transfer Vessels over multiple years. ABP invested £35 million in the LEEF, which opened in January 2025 and features deep-water berths, 350m of upgraded quayside, six CTV berths, and eight acres of operational space. Clarksons Port Services will lease and operate the facility on behalf of RWE, supporting the delivery of clean, secure energy for approximately 3 million UK homes.
