Actis' Skyline Brazilian transmission platform expands with two acquisitions, totaling 1,404km of operational transmission lines

Actis is strategically expanding its Skyline platform into Brazilian transmission infrastructure, diversifying the platform's focus beyond its established North American renewable generation assets. This acquisition of 1,404km of operational transmission lines for an estimated R$1.5 billion (US$300 million) provides immediate cash flow and reduces development risk for the global investment firm. Actis, with its focus on sustainable infrastructure in emerging markets, is leveraging this deal to secure predictable revenue streams characteristic of transmission assets within Brazil. The move allows Actis to deepen its sustainable infrastructure footprint in a key Latin American market, capitalizing on de-risked, income-generating assets. Skyline, which owns and operates over 5 GW of utility-scale solar and onshore wind projects across North America, is now extending its operational expertise into Brazilian transmission under Actis' direction. Sellers EDP, a global energy company focused on renewable energy production and distribution, and Vinci Partners, a Brazilian alternative investment platform active in infrastructure, are divesting these assets. This divestment allows EDP to reallocate capital towards its core renewable generation activities, while Vinci Partners realizes value from its infrastructure investments in Brazil. Bradesco BBI, the investment banking arm of Brazil's second-largest private bank, advised Actis on the acquisition, reinforcing its position as a leading financial advisor for Latin American infrastructure projects. Mattos Filho, a leading Brazilian full-service law firm, provided legal counsel to the buyer, demonstrating its continued involvement in major energy sector transactions in Brazil.
