Akash Systems receives $300 million initial order for AMD-powered diamond cooled AI servers in the US

The servers are powered by AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs, two AMD Epyc 9005 CPUs, AMD Pensando Pollara 400 AI NICs, and the latest ROCm software stack. Akash's diamond cooling technology is claimed to reduce GPU hotspot temperatures by 10°C (50°F) and is projected to increase FLOPs/Watt by up to 15 percent per server. The servers are fully warrantied under existing AMD and manufacturer warranties. Akash plans to release diamond cooling solutions for additional AMD Instinct GPU systems later this year, including the AMD Instinct MI355X GPU and future iterations.
