Danish company Andel sold approximately 22.8 million shares in Ørsted for DKK 3.09 billion ($481 million), representing 1.73% of the offshore wind developer's issued share capital. Following the transaction, Andel retains 43.4 million shares, equivalent to a 3.28% interest, and will remain a major shareholder. Andel plans to use the proceeds to support investment in electricity grids and electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Denmark. The transaction broadly matches the value of Andel's DKK 3 billion investment in new Ørsted shares during the developer's capital increase in 2025, where the value of Andel's total holding has since increased by more than DKK 2 billion.
