APsystems partners with Equity Solar and distribution partners to sell plug-in solar kits in Maine under new state law
APsystems, a global microinverter manufacturer, announced its commitment to offer safe, affordable, and portable plug-in solar solutions in Maine following the enactment of LD 1730 by Governor Janet Mills on April 6, 2026. The company is collaborating with Equity Solar in Maine and other distribution partners to provide kits that include solar modules, racking, and APsystems' EZ1 microinverters, designed for compact, plug-and-play configurations. APsystems' EZ1 microinverter is specifically engineered to support small-scale solar systems of 420 watts or less, aligning with Maine's new law allowing homeowners and renters to connect portable solar devices. The legislation, set to take effect on or after July 15, 2026, permits devices up to 1,200 watts when installed by a certified electrician, with compliance options under UL 3700 or the National Electrical Code. APsystems' U.S. head of marketing, Sydney Delvan, highlighted the significance of the law in enabling accessible solar adoption for renters, multifamily residents, and homeowners who previously faced barriers.
